Black rice, also known as forbidden rice, is a nutrient-rich whole grain with a deep purple-black color. Black rice has a slightly chewy texture and a mildly nutty, earthy flavor with a hint of natural sweetness. When cooked, it becomes tender but remains firm and slightly sticky. Perfect for rice bowls, salads, desserts, and stir-fries. Ratio: 2.25cups of water per 1 cup of rice.

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

Rinse the rice under running water. In a pot, add 2.25 cups of water per 1 cup of rice and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes until water is absorbed. Turn off the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes, then fluff.
